Decentralized Learning Experiences

Community Led Educational Experiences

Decentralized Learning Experiences is a new democratic program sponsored by Psychoanalytic Inquiry, offering informal “learning experiences” in a variety of formats.

Shared Learning Experiences for the Community

The premise behind this program is simply this: We have a large community of clinicians whose impressive range of skills and knowledge have gone largely untapped. This program offers any licensed clinician with skills or interests or ideas they would like to share an opportunity to offer a learning experience to the community. Since we believe that interesting ideas can come from anywhere, we expect that new concepts and ways of thinking will arise out of this project.

What is a Learning Experience?

A learning experience can be almost anything, and any licensed clinician can propose one. It can be about a paper, a book, or a movie. It can tackle an idea, such as field theory, or dream analysis or focus on the work of a theorist. The format can be didactic or it can be a leaderless seminar or a one-hour conversation. It can be a one-off event or a series of weekly, biweekly, or monthly meetings. Currently, this program is in its pilot stage, so certain limits may apply.
